TinyEYE: Reaching Your Dream

Speech Therapy Telepractice

“If one is lucky, a solitary fantasy can totally transform one million realities.”
Maya Angelou

Hi Everyone,

I am four years into building my service with the mission to improve access to quality speech and language services for communities. The fact is that all children deserve equal access to accessible help, regardless of where they live. Reaching children who need help is my dream, my purpose. How do I know? My heart burns when I talk about it.

How do you reach a dream?

1. The belief you have in yourself and in your mission is your road. If you keep moving forward, your road will take you to your dream. Do not stop believing. Do not let nay-sayers drive you off your course. Their simple purpose is to reinforce your determination to succeed. Thank you very much.

2. Keep your nose down with focus. Keep your ears awake. Keep your eyes open – fixed beyond the horizon of what is possible today. Your dream will come true in the future. Look there.

3. Integrity is all you will have some days. Let it be as constant and as guiding as the North Star.

4. Seek and access support and inspiration for all of yourself. You are the medium that is bringing you to your dream – take care of you. Nurture you from the inside out. Rejuvenate your spirit, your mind, your mission. Soak up mentorship and self-development opportunities….You are at the wheel – help yourself drive with unwavering confidence. Selectively hand pick your co-travellers for this mission. Surround yourself with the right hands, hearts, and heads – people who share your vision and contribute to you achieving it with excellence. No room on this journey for negative energy nor self-serving egos. Value the skill-sets and experiences others bring – but bring them because of their character.

5. The map is wrong. The end is not right around the corner. Pull out the binoculars – you will not see the end there either. When you see no end in sight, you will find resilience, resourcefulness, and relentlessness. And while you are on the road, take a moment to support others who are seeking their destination, too. Might as well try to enjoy this winding journey.

6. Wake up. While you are on the way to your dream, you probably have not realized that you have long surpassed what you even thought you would be able to do. This is that part of the road trip when you stop and pull over for a moment because you simply cannot pass up the view – you know it has been worth it. Your heart is burning.
