TinyEYE: Telecare Aware

Speech Therapy Telepractice

Hi Everyone,

Have you ever felt excited about finding like-minded people who share your commitment to a purpose?

Telecare Aware is a “One stop for Telecare and Telehealth News Updates”.   It has articles, videos, links…a variety of resources. Through Telecare Aware, I heard about a development that is incredibly intriguing – Apple iPhone is used for stuttering therapy.
” Scientists at Hollins Communications Research Institute, a leading center for stuttering research and treatment innovation, have just completed successful trials using Apple’s iPhone as a stuttering therapy tool to enhance the transfer of new fluency skills from the clinical setting into real-life situations…Our clients now have a dynamic, easy-to-use tool that can be used in virtually any setting to evaluate how well they are using newly learned fluency skills,” Dr. Webster said. “In addition, the device provides training feedback and performance data that were previously available only with our clinic-based computers.”

How To Start and Build Your Own Private Speech Therapy Practice!

  1. This is avery helpful site. Thank you! I wanted to tell you about a non-profit, self-help organization called the National Stuttering Association (NSA). They offer chapter meetings, workshops and annual conferences for people who stutter and SLP’s. They have at least 600 peole who stuttter attend annual conferences they have had speakers such as Vice President Joe Biden, John Stossel, Annie Glenn and Adrian Peterson (Chicago Bears) speak at. The NSA offers several programs for kids and teens who stutter, CEU’s and workshops. Is there a way you can add us to your site as a reference or additional resources link?

    • Hi Cathy!

I’ve added the NSA and to our blogroll.
